The STEM Alley

Teaching STEM Skills

Empowering Schools. Inspiring Futures.

3D Printers Alley is proudly based in Clarkesville, Georgia, where innovation meets community. We lead a multi-county STEM campaign to place 3D printers in every public school across Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens counties—empowering students with hands-on technology and creative problem-solving. Our mission is simple: build systems that inspire, endure, and give back. Whether you're a school ready to join the movement or a teacher looking to make a lasting impact, we’re here to connect.

Why STEM Belongs in Every Classroom

Empowering Schools. Inspiring Futures.

At 3D Printers Alley, we don’t just deliver printers—we deliver possibility. Our mission is to place 3D printing technology in every public school across Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens counties, because we believe every student deserves access to tools that teach them how to think, build, and solve problems.

STEM isn’t just about science and math—it’s about systems thinking, creative problem-solving, and real-world impact. When students design a badge holder that actually fits, or print a gear set that moves, they’re not just learning—they’re engineering.

We’ve seen firsthand how these tools transform classrooms:

  • Students become creators, not just consumers.
  • Teachers become facilitators of innovation.
  • Communities rally around visible, lasting progress.

From Clarkesville to Cornelia, our multi-county initiative is more than a campaign—it’s a movement. And it’s growing, one classroom at a time.

💡 Want to Get Involved?

Whether you're a teacher, administrator, or parent, we invite you to be part of Georgia’s maker movement.

Classroom STEM Projects that really work

Hands-On Learning with 3D Printers Alley

At 3D Printers Alley, we believe STEM education should be more than theory—it should be tactile, iterative, and built to last. That’s why we’ve developed a suite of classroom-ready 3D printing projects designed to engage students, support educators, and deliver real-world results.

Whether you’re teaching geometry, biology, or engineering fundamentals, these projects are built to fit your curriculum and your print bed.

🧠 Badge Holder Design Challenge

Teach parametric modeling and measurement accuracy by having students design custom badge holders for school staff or events.

Skills: CAD modeling, prototyping, iterative design Download: Badge Holder STL + OpenSCAD Files

🧪 Test Tube Rack for Lab Safety

A biology lab staple—students print racks that fit real test tubes and learn about tolerances, load-bearing design, and print orientation.

Skills: Measurement, structural design, slicing optimization

Download: Test Tube Rack STL Files

⚙️ Gear Set Assembly

Students print interlocking gears and explore ratios, torque, and rotational motion. Great for physics and mechanical engineering units.

Skills: Gear math, mechanical systems, print calibration Download: Gear Set STL Files

📦 Arduino Enclosure Project

Perfect for tech labs—students design and print enclosures for Arduino boards, learning about electronics integration and enclosure design.

Skills: Electronics layout, enclosure design, print fitment

Download: Arduino Enclosure STL Files

🛠️ Why These Projects Work

  • Built for Real Use: These aren’t just demo prints—they’re designed to be used in labs, classrooms, and school operations.
  • Customizable: Teachers can adapt each project to fit grade level, subject matter, or printer type.
  • Community-Tested: Every file has been printed, tested, and refined in North Georgia classrooms.
